Atlanta, GA April 2009

Atlanta was one of the assigned stops on the first leg of the MacHalo World Tour which happens to be close to where Karen lived. She thought since it was going to be so close she should pop in to join the ladies for lunch. Of course, once Karen said she was joining the ladies it went from an intimate lunch of 10 to an intimate gathering of 85 Moning Maniacs, LOL. Luckily, Krissy didn't mind us crashing her party.

We had a wonderful day filled with laughter and Maniacs from far and wide. It was our first large fan gathering since the board had been set up and what a blast!

Julie was there to greet people as soon as they got there, she had made name tags for everyone which was so sweet of her (she has since made them for all of our gatherings, yay!) and such a help to us, because I know I forget names as soon as they're told to me a lot of times.

Kelsey changed her spring break trip home from England to join the gathering, Hailey was so excited that when she made plans to drive in she forgot it was her daughter Paige's 9th birthday so we made sure to have a pink cake for her (which was divine). She loved it because I gave her a fork and said have at it. I wish someone would give me a cake and a fork and let me go to town.

Krissy was a wonderful hostess. She took pictures of everything, people with the MacHalo as well as just documenting the day. Karen signed books for over 5 hours so that everyone had a chance to talk to her one on one.

The weenie signs people were holding were for people who were weenies when it came to food. It was a Mediterranean restaurant so they were aprehensive, LOL. Brian was one of the few males fans there. Brenda his wife is a huge fan and he got curious and tried out Karen's books so now he's a fan also.

Whitney totally reminds me of Mac, a young, blonde college student from GA. She is also totally sweet and not only is she a fan but her mom Barbara is also. It's always so much fun to meet multi-generational fans.

All in all a fantastic day. Meeting maniacs in person is always something special and meeting this many was just wonderful!
